Tournament Rules
1) This is an NSA Sanctioned event. Any disputes shall be settled by the Tournament Staff with all rulings final. Protests discussed below.
2) The following must be provided to Tournament Staff at time of check-in, which shall be one hour before your first pool game begins. The following is required for check-in:
- Team Roster
- Rosters are frozen at check-in. Prior to first pool game, failure to provide a current roster or altering roster/player after check-in may be grounds for forfeit of all games as determined by Tournament Director.
- Provide Birth Certificate copies for each player listed on Roster IF requested.
- Proof of Insurance.
- Provide 24-Hr cell #/contact in case of rain out or other contact needs.
4) Home team will be the official scorekeeper for each game. At end of game, Official Scorekeeper shall report score to tournament staff.
5) Home team shall be determined by a coin toss at plate meeting. Dugouts are not assigned. The team listed first or on the top of the bracket shall occupy the 3rd base side, except when a team is occupying the dugout from the previous game.
6) Line-ups must be submitted to the plate umpire at the plate meeting. Balls are provided by the tournament.
7) Managers and Coaches are responsible for keeping the dugout and warm-up areas clean. Once a game has ended, please clean up your dugout/team areas and leave promptly so the next team may enter.
8) This tournament shall utilize two (2) pool play games and double elimination for Championship Play. Brackets will be posted. It is each teams responsibility to review the board to determine if any changes affect them. If rain occurs, tournament reserves the right to modify the tournament form as necessary. All teams will be notified of such changes.
9) Pool Play – All games play will cease at one hour and twenty minutes in pool play. If the home team is not ahead the score will revert back to the last completed inning.
10) Seeding for championship play will be determined as follows:
- Won/Loss Record
- Head to Head Record
- Runs Allowed
- Runs Scored
- Coin Toss
11) Championship Play: No new inning may be started after one hour and twenty minutes, with any inning started played to completion. International Tie Breaker will go into effect in all Championship Play games if score is tied after one hour and twenty minute time is completed, or at the top of the 8th inning, whichever occurs first. There will be no time limit in the championship game The tie breaker will go into effect in the top of the eight inning
12) If, after 4 complete innings, a team is ahead by 12 or more runs, or after 5 innings a team is ahead by 10 or more runs, or after 6 innings is ahead by 8 or more runs, the game shall be called complete.
13) An official protest will be permitted and settled immediately provided the protesting team to the Tournament Director/Staff puts $100 in cash forth. Any protest will be reviewed immediately. A protest must be accompanied by $100 fee, identify of the applicable NSA rule/section being protested. After review of the protest, the rules, and consultation with the umpire involved a ruling will be provided. All decisions rendered by Tournament are final. If protest is lost, $100 fee is forfeited.
14) In the event it rains, play will resume when weather permits. Once the tournament begins it will be completed. If the tournament must be completed on another weekend, the date/dates of completion is predicated upon field’s space availability and will be determined by the Tournament Director.
15) A team may choose to bat all roster players during Pool Play Only. Batting all players will allow a team free substitution on defense AND those teams may bat their entire roster in the order designated. If a team bats everyone in Pool Play, the last out may be use as a courtesy runner for the pitcher and catcher only. If a team chooses not to bat all players in pool play, a courtesy runner may be utilized for the pitcher and catcher as specified per NSA rules.
16) NO WARMUPS ON INFIELD. Good sportsmanship and positive behavior by participants and fans is expected. Team Managers are responsible for monitoring the behavior of the people associated with their respective teams. Any manager, coach, parent, fan, etc. ejected by an umpire or Tournament Official may be suspended from participating in the rest of the tournament as determined by Tournament Staff.
